Thanks to Dr. Kat Clark, Dr. Ernest Hinson, and Dr. Shanna Barnes we ensure that we can be open Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm, and on Saturdays from 9am to noon. We have an amazing staff of certified veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and receptionists who strive to make your visit as stress-free as possible while helping the doctors provide great care for your pet.



Champlin Park Pet Hospital is a full service veterinary hospital that provides: 

· Well visits for your healthy dogs and cats including vaccinations 
· Diagnostic visits for your sick pet 
· In-house x-rays, as well as lab tests on blood, urine, and feces 
· Dental cleanings, including extractions 
· Common surgeries such as spays, neuters, declaws, and lump removals
· Emergency surgeries such as laceration repair, foreign bodies, and bladder stone removal 
· If needed, we work with specialists who can come to the hospital to perform ultrasounds, echocardiograms, or complex orthopedic surgeries 
· Dr. Kat Clark and Dr. Shanna Barnes are happy to see small mammals such as rabbits, hamsters, rats, and ferrets 
· Dr. Shanna Barnes is also able to see pet birds 

Dr. Kat Clark is a 2008 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, and has been practicing in the Twin Cities ever since. Her passion is in education and ensuring that you have the right tools to keep your pets healthy. She joined the Champlin Park Pet Hospital team in January of 2013. Her creature collection includes a dog named Violet, two cats, a young daughter, and her husband. In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, and spending time outside.

Dr. Shanna Barnes has worked with small and exotic animals for over eight years as a certified technician and assistant before obtaining her doctorate of veterinary medicine from the University of Minnesota in 2013. She has completed the avian and small mammal medicine program at the U of M, is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians, and has completed an externship with the Raptor Center. She is excited to bring her experience with exotic animals to Champlin Park Pet Hospital and start seeing small mammals and birds. She also has a special interest in dental health and dental surgery. She lives with her husband, two children, and guinea pig (Mordecai). During her free time she enjoys walking the lakes, canoeing, sewing, and spending time with her family. 

Dr. Ernest Hinson graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School in 1989. He has practiced in the Twin Cities for many years and is well versed in addressing all your pet's medical needs. He has a special interest in surgery and in geriatric medicine geared towards promoting a better quality of life for older pets. When away from the hospital, Dr. Hinson pursues a number of hobbies including fishing, gardening and gourmet cooking.
